The Stone of Cold Fire: Another classic film review by the Dinosaur Boy

This one is for McCall. Coulter calls her Mister Call.

Today I watched a great Land Before Time. It's one of my favorites and it's called The Stone of Cold Fire. That's the one where Petrie's uncle, Pterano, comes to the Great Valley and does all kinds of bad things.

It's easy for somebody watching it to tell that Pterano is a bad guy, but it takes Petrie way long to figure that out. That's cause Pterano is his uncle, and it's hard to believe your own uncle would be a bad guy. Even Cera and Ducky already figured out that Pterano was bad.

But Petrie hears Ducky scream and Littlefoot tells Petrie that it's Pterano but he doesn't believe it, then Petrie flies up and says, "Let Ducky go!" Pterano says, "This isn't what it looks like." But Petrie found out that Pteran was trying to kidnap Ducky. So then Petrie found out that Pterano really wanted to take over the Great Valley.

But Ducky didn't die. She fell in this cave in some really freezing water and the others rescue her.

But the thing is, Pterano wasn't a good leader, because some of the pack believed him and he led them to the Mysterious Beyond and they all died from a thousand velociraptors. These were gray and black raptors. I've seen orange and red raptors in other Land Before Time movies.

[Dad's Note: Clear as mud, huh? Check out Wikipedia's summary of this prehistori c blockbuster here.]

Land Before Time: Fake But Entertaining

This one is for McCall. Sometimes I think she hates me.

I'm watching Land Before Time: Invasion of the Tinysauruses. I don't know why they have stuff on Land Before Time that isn't real. Like the Tinysauruses. Those are teency little longnecks that live in a hole. They can't be little compsagnathus's because they are definitely plant eaters. Plus, their bodies are like longnecks. So there's no way they're real because I don't know of any other little dinosaurs.

But it's ok because it's very entertaining. That means it's fun to watch. They're probably even more entertaining than Dirty Jobs or Sesame Street. I love Land Before Time movies and I could watch them all night long.

Flip, Flap and Fly

This one was going to be for West, but he's not minding momma right now.

Did you know that a brand new Land Before Time show came out yesterday? It did. It's called the Great Day of the Flyers. Silas came to play today, but our house wasn't all the way clean. We watched that show. That show has my favorite song on there called "Flip, Flap and Fly." When they sing that song they meet Mo again. He's that baby ichthyosaur.

In that Land Before Time show the kid dinosaurs got in trouble because the archaeopteryx got on the spinosaurus' back and that made the spinosaurus mad. Then they went into the Mysterious Beyond. Of course they went to the Mysterious Beyond. That's what they always do. The Mysterious Beyond is scary because of all the meateaters there, but they go there there anyway because there's stuff they need to do, like find shiny rocks or a night flower to make Littlefoot's grandpa better.

Cera is a little bit grumpy, but not as grumpy as she is in the other shows. Mr. Three-Horn is grumpy in this one too. Tria keeps telling him to move and he falls off a cliff! That's a great part.
