Happy New Year 2008!!

[Dad's Note: We took a bunch of cute New Year pictures tonight, but when we got home and went to import them, they were nowhere to be found. So please enjoy this generic Happy New Year picture courtesy of Google Images.]

It's the new year now and the stars are out. I was outside looking at my icicle on the porch and it's growing and I looked up and saw that the stars are out. That means it's' going to be a good new year full of fun and wonder.

Do you know what I'm doing for my new year goal? I'm going to teach all my pets some tricks. That's what I'll do. I'll teach Goffy and Ziggy some tricks, then the frog and lizards and the piranha. I think the toughest one to teach will be the piranha. I'll have to have Dadda help me with him.

Davey Jones' Locker

This one is for Underdog.

Captain Jack Sparrow in Davey Jones' locker
(Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End)

Bridger in Davey Jones' locker

Yesterday we went to Davey Jones' Locker. That's a place far, far away that takes way long to get there. It kind of looks like the sea, but it's really not. It's where there was tons of Jack Sparrows and one Jack Sparrow killed one of the other Jack Sparrows.

I don't really like pirates but Coulter sure does. But I got a pirate sword for Christmas that isn't just a pirate sword cause other people besides pirates can use it. I learned how to sword fight real good. Now I wish I could go back to San Diego to fight that pirate again. I bet I could kick his butt now.

You know what's funny is that it's not winter in Davey Jones's Locker. There's no snow and you don't even have to wear a coat there. West says it was warm because we already passed Christmas and it will be summer soon. I just think it's because that place is a strange magical place.

[Dad's Note: Yep, same place as the movie. And it truly is "At World's End."]

Liveblogging The Land Before Time

[Dad's Note: Ah, one of my favorite types of posts from Bridger-liveblogging. We now join the Dinosaur Boy as he watches The Land Before Time: The Wisdom of Friends and provides us a running commentary. BEWARE: SPOILERS AHEAD!!!]

This yellow-belly is dumb- well, she's not dumb- her brain is. No dinosaurs are dumb- just sometimes their brains are. There's the green one- he's the smart one. They're looking for their herd. What's she doing now? Oh, she's not the smartest dinosaur in the world.

Oh great, the blue one just yelled so the meateaters know where they are now. Ooh- there's the king of the t-rex's. He's the one with the scratch. He probably got that scratch in a fight with other dinos in another Land Before Time. But in that one his scratch goes from his eye clear down to his leg. I think in the next Land Before Time he's not the king any more. He just hangs out with two raptors.

Ooh- they found them. They're chasing them. He just bit a feather off one of the dodo birds. See, that green one is the wise one. The t-rex with the scratch is the best t-rex. He's the king of them all. Hah! The dodos are trying to put their heads in the ground but it's too hard. What? Now they're bouncing on their butts and making rocks fall. Those rocks don't hurt him at all. He won't die because meateaters never die in Land Before Time. Nobody ever does. Look, he's up. I knew it.

The t-rex's will come back right when they find their cave. Oh, they found their heard. Wait, there's nobody there but trees- thousands and thousands of trees. Of course Petrie says "Our folks won't be very happy." Every single Land Before Time he says that.

This is a great song coming on now. The dodo's are dancing but Sera and Ducky and Petrie don't want to. Now they're dancing. I knew they would because they can't resist it. Now Sera's dancing. She's a grumpy dino. Littlefoot and Sera love each other but they're always not getting along- just like me and McCall.

Weston Doesn't Like Church

This one is for Dadda because he always has to work until tomorrow.

Weston says he hates church because it's boring and there's no toys to play with. I just told him it's because he's still little. When you get older like me you don't care so much about the toys. I love church because I get to learn about Jesus.

Here's how it works: Kids that are 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 get really bored at church. Kids that are 6, 7, 8, and all that stuff don't really mind that there's no toys.

Merry Christmas from the Dinosaur Boy

This one is for Santa, the Wonderpets, and dinosaurs.

Merry Christmas everybody in the world!

I had a wonderful Christmas. We went to sleep on Christmas Eve so that Santa could come, but I thought I heard some clip-clops on our porch. That would make sense because we don't have a chimlee.

I got a Mega Spinosaurus and Glider the pteradactyl. I got a jeep and even a Nigel set and a Crocodile Hunter show. Oh, and a Wonderpets show- The Wonderpets Save the Reindeer. I can't wait because Friday night Dadda's going to stay up with us and watch it. We're never going to sleep!

Jesus in the Stars

This one is for a Mesosaurus. That dino has a head like a coelophysis but it has a longer body.

We went to this hotel today that looked like San Diego but it isn't San Diego but I wish it was San Diego. Then we went to see the lights at the temple. There is this statue of Jesus in the stars and planets. I got real close to him so I could see the holes in his hands and feet. I even saw the stab wound on his belly but I had to look real close to see it. I love Jesus and I hope some day I can see him.

Help For Hunter

[Dad's Note: Just wanted to give Bridger's readers a heads up on a situation a family in our town is facing.

Hunter Greyson Keel was born at 30 weeks gestation on April 14, 2007. He was born with semi-lobar holoprosencephaly (H.P.E.), a rare and almost always fatal condition. His parents hope and pray that Hunter will be with them for his first Christmas. Hunter's mom posts regular updates on her experiences with her special boy on her blog.

Family and friends of the Keels built a website to share Hunter's story and provide a way for people to make donations to help alleviate the huge financial burden. Please take a few minutes to read Amber Keel's blog and visit www.HelpForHunter.com to make a donation or drop them a note.]

My Letter to Santa

Dear Santa,

Do you talk to Jesus? I know you work for him because you give kids toys so they can remember him. But I can't figure out how the elves make toys. How do they make them look just like the toys in stores. I told Dadda I want a Magic Treehouse cartridge for my 'puter and Dadda said he doesn't think they have that kind of cartridge for my 'puter. I told him that's ok because your elves can just make one.

Do you know what? I'm going to leave cookies for you when you come! But I'm going to put them in a secret hiding place and leave you a map so you can search for them like treasure. How about that?

I been good this year, but I did get some tokens this week and I told David to stay away from me because he just gets me in trouble. I'm trying real hard to be a good brother and a good friend to McCall- because if you want a good friend, you have to be a good friend.

Can you bring me a Mega Spinosaurus, a Matchbox Arctic set, a Nigel Marven set, a T-Rex Arctic set, and please bring West a Polar Bear arctic set because he loves polar bears so much. And maybe you can bring Coulter his very own Tyrone so he'll stop playing with mine.

I love you, Santa.

Love, Bridger

McCall Takes Care of Me

This one is for experiments, Pokemons, and Yugios.

McCall sometimes does my homework for me. I don't ask her to. Whenever she feels like I need a little help, she doesn't talk to me about it, she just does it. That's why sometimes it has her handwriting on it.

I need to think of something nice to get her for Christmas. She was saying she needs a new charger for her jeep, but that would be kind of expensive, and we're on a b- b- budget.

Tiff's Band

This one is for my Tiff because I love her so much and she plays instruments really good.

We went to Tiff's concert and it was so cool. Tiff was sitting up there in a chair and she played the flute, then another flute, then a drum thing, then an accordion. It was so good music and I stayed in my seat the whole time and minded my manners. They had a guy playing the guitar and this other lady played a violin like Alison Krauss.

Do you know what Tiff's band needs? A ukulele player. I didn't see anybody playing the ukulele up there. When I learn how to play my ukulele good I want to sit up there with Tiff, but not with that other guy, and play instruments with her. Maybe I can play the drums too or the harmonica. Every time Tiff has a concert I want to go to it.

Jack Hanna and the Monotos

This one is for Jack Hanna and my two cars that can transform. One's a t-rex and one's a tiger.

I was watching Jack Hanna and there were these monato fish that were eating a dead piranha. They were swimming out of his mouth and in a giant hole they made. It was in the Amazon river where the water looks red as blood. They kind of look like mini eels. They are a little oval and they go really fast- it's so cool how fast they go. Everyboy used to think that piranhas were the top predator, but now they know that the monato is.

[Dad's Note: Ok, any Amazonian fish experts out there-- Jack maybe-- I need your help. I'm usually able to verify the things Bridger says and he's pretty much always right. But I can't find any fish called "monato" anywhere. He may just have the spelling off. So if a mini eel-looking oval fish rings a bell for anybody, let me know.]

Wednesdays with West on Thursday: A Letter to my Froggy

This is a letter to my froggy.

Dear Froggy,

I'm sorry I was gone so long at San Diego and Texas. I missed you when we was at San Diego and Texas and I'm glad you had enough crickets when I was gone. I found a dead froggy at Texas. He died by a car and I was very sad. But I said a prayer and he got to Jesus and do you know what Jesus did? He made his spirit back alive and gave him the best water ever.

What do you want for Christmas, little froggy? I know, how 'bout a little toy wind-up froggy that sticks his tongue out and catches flies for you? You are cute, froggy. You are the best froggy ever and I love you.

Caudipteryx, Gibran, and that Pokemon Book

This one is for a caudipteryx. That's a feathered dino that was related to the archaeopteryx.

I went to my friend Gibran's today and he knows a lot about the Pokemons because he watches the movie so much. They talk Spanish there but they know I don't talk Spanish so they talk English when I'm there.

There is a book at my book fair that is a Pokemon book that I think Mumma should get for me. I seen it at the library. I was the first one to find it. I was looking for a dinosaur book, but the only on I could find was one that I already checked out. But this Pokemon book has a big block of rocks. Did you know here is a pokemon named Squirtle? Weston would like that one.

I don't know how much it costs, but I think it would be great because it has every single pokemon in it and it would totally keep me busy at church.

Jimmy, the Snow Dinosaur

This one is for Jimmy the Snow Dinosaur.

It snowed yesterday so much and we went outside to build a snow dinosaur. He's a t-rex because he's the king of all dinosaurs. Plus that's about the only dinosaur anybody knows and I did that so people would know it's a dinosaur.

I love him and he's alive. He came alive when we made him. We were making cookies last night so when it was late I took the cookie cutters outside and cookie cutted a snowman on him for company. Then I cookie cutted a candy cane on him so he can have something to eat. Then I cookie cutted a Christmas tree, then a gingerbread man to hang on his Christmas tree. Then I cookie cutted him a stocking so that Santa can put stuff in it.

I love that snow dinosaur but I know some day he'll melt, so I will have lots of cups ready to catch all the water and save it so I'll have Jimmy forever.
