Small Things, Low Prices

This one is for Miss Lori.

Do you know why Dadda drives a small car? Because it costs less money for him to do that. I noticed that the smaller something is, the lower price it is. Like a dinosaur. A big dinosaur at Wal-Mart is way, way more expensive than a teeny tiny one. Dinosaurs like the little squishy one Coulter got at the dinosaur museum in Texas is even cheaper. It's kind of like a big Butterfinger is much more expensive than a tiny one. I have these cool little toy guys that Bret gave me. He got them at a very low price.

Consoling Weston About That Frog

This one is for that smashed frog me and Weston found in Texas.

I been thinking about that frog that was smashed and I was trying to tell Weston that it's ok because that frog is with Jesus now and there are lots of frogs that are still alive. ?He was very sad about that froggy and I told him that there are a lot of mommy froggies out there and that's where all the baby froggies come from.

As long as there are plenty of mommy froggies, there will be plenty of baby froggies. What would be bad is if lots of the mommies got smashed. I told him the one we found was probably a baby froggie so we don't have to worry about losing all of the frogs. I told him he just has to make sure to feed his frog enough crickets and give him plenty of light so his can stay alive and happy.

Corduroy Bear's Texas Adventure

This one is for Corduroid. He is a great bear and I love him. I'm so lucky I got a turn to take him.

Corduroid is a cute bear that my teacher got from the Build-a-Bear Workshop many years ago when she was a little girl. He is 164 special to her. Every week somebody gets to take him home and then you write about your adventures with him. I got him just when it was time to go to Tescas, so I took him with me!

I was so tired on the plane but I didn't want to lean on him because he's alive and that would hurt him. We flew to Tescas and I took him to Granny in Tescas's work, then to Grammy Darla's. We took a picture of him on the hay because there's a whole lot of hay in Tescas.

Then we took him to a cool dinosaur museum where they have dinosaurs that move and roar just like real dinos. My favorite was all of them but if I have to say my favorite then it would be the big dilophosaurus that spit water.

I took Corduroid with me for 6 whole days. Then we got back on the plane and flew home. That was my adventure with Corduroid the wonderful bear.

[Dad's Note: Not sure where he got the "roid" from, but it's cute.]

Wednesdays with West: The Poor Smashed Froggy

This is for Super Jumper the frog. He's with Jesus now.

I am so sad because I found a froggy that got smashed by a car. He was so bloody and he had little white stripes on him. I knew it was a froggy because he had the same toes as my froggy at home. I was crying because I was so sad about that froggy and I was wondering if he saw the car coming. I wanted dadda to take a picture of me by some taddle leaves cause that's where froggies live. Me and Bridger named that froggy Super Jumper.

I said a special prayer to Jesus about that froggy and said please make that froggy go to Jesus and be happy. When we came home to our hotel I looked for that smashed froggy and he was gone because Jesus came and took him away. He will be happy there.

[Dad's Note: "Taddle Leaves" are what Weston calls lily pads. The boy loves frogs more than life itself and he was devastated when he found the smashed froggy this morning. He's doing better tonight, but it has weighed on his mind pretty heavily all day.]

Kickin' It In Tescas

[Dad's Note: Tonight's post comes to you live from somewhere in the East Texas wilderness.]

This one is for Katie in Tescas but she's right here because we are in Tescas!!

Victoria and Denee drawed these cool pictures for me today but I can't put them on my blog yet because we need a scanner and we don't have one here. The pictures have a megalodon, octopus, pleurodon, pleiosaur, stingray, dolphin, jellyfish, turtle, electric eel, alligator, and a starfish. They're pictures of the sea and I love them so much.

We flew here in a big plane way, way early in the morning when it was still night time. I brought teacher's Corduroy Bear and he sat with me. We sat by a window but all I could see was the engine out my window. Then we got on a bus and then in a car and now we're here and here is Tescas.

David

This one is for Granny in Tescas.

There's this kid at school named Dave and he wants to be by me all the time and come with me everywhere, but the problem is he gets me in trouble all the time. He's not a very good kid at all and even he keeps trying to tell me he'll start being good, but he never does. All he does is get in trouble. If I don't pretend to be his friend he'll start a fight with me.

We were at recess and he just kept bothering me and here's what happened: First I heard the whistle and I knew it was time to go to the door. I kept on trying to go there but he kept jumping on me so I had to beat him off me. Some teacher saw me beating David off me and they made me go talk to some lady. I tried to tell her that David wouldn't get off me but she didn't believe me. I really don't like him one bit.

[Dad's Note: It's ok, pal. I made sure that all concerned parties were clear on who started the fight. I'm glad you didn't start it and I'm also glad you ended it.]

Chief Brave Eagle

This one is for my teacher.

We got Indian names in school and my name is Golden Eagle. But that's not my real Indian name. Teacher named me Brave Eagle but I wanted to be Golden Eagle. She says I can't be Golden Eagle because Preston is Golden Eagle. But I really want to be Golden Eagle because it reminds me of a raptor that's gold. Birds and very close to dinosaurs and I would rather be Golden Eagle. So I write Golden Eagle on my papers where it says "Name." Then I write Brave Eagle on the bottom. Brave Eagle is a cool name, but not as cool as Golden Eagle.

Drowning Worms

This one is for Grace. She helps me a lot at church whenever I need help.

We went fishing in this really big pond to go fishing. There was these good guys there that had a big fish. We went fishing and dadda put this worm on the hook. I was kind of sad for that worm because it was going to drown so we took one last picture of it before we casted it in.

Then we went swimming with Dadda. We jumped in just like Bear Grylls does. It was so deep but we were tough. There was tons of fishes in that water but we didn't catch any.

Mega Spinosaurus

This one is for a Mega Spinosaurus. That's a new Dinosaur Mountain dinosaur. I'm going to save my money so I can buy it because it's so cool.

I saw this commercial for the Mega Spinosaurus and if you get it, you can have it fight with Mega T-Rex. When those two fight, t-rex would beat a spinosaurus almost every time. Sometimes a spinosaurus might win like in Jurassic Park 3. It can happen sometimes, but really only if t-rex forgets to do the move where he bites the spinosaurus in the eye and twists its head. If t-rex will just remember that move he'll never lose.

Wednesdays with West: My Headache

This one is for a t-rex. Not a fake t-rex, a real t-rex.

My head hurts really bad. It feels like someone's walking on me. I think some good sleep would help me. I thinkI'll go say a prayer to make it feel better.

Dinosaurs Before Dark

This one is for my school teacher. I love her so much.

My teacher read this cool book to us and I loved it so much. It is about a little boy and his sister that spin in their tree house and find pteradons. Oh it's such a good book. I knew my teacher let another kid borrow one of her books so I thought maybe she would let me borrow that book. So I went to her and told her if I could borrow it and she said yes! She said maybe Dadda could read it to me, so I waited for Dadda to come home and we started reading it. I love that book very much.

Of Coelophysis and Bad Habits

This one is for Coelophysis. That's a great carnivorous dinosaur with a great name. Do you know why it's a great name? Because coelophysis is one of those words where the 'C' sounds like 'S'.

Coelophysis

Weston has a habit for sugar. Having a habit for something means you're related to something and you can't stop doing it. Like those people that play those money games at Whisker Pete's. They just play and play and keep losing their money. That's a pretty dumb thing to do with your money- just play those games like that. That's just as dumb as if you went and bought a desk when you already had a desk. Just dumb.

So you shouldn't have a habit for something like West does. He needs to stop eating so much sugar and drinking so much Coke or he's never going to get big and strong.

[Dad's Note: I think he means "addicted to something". "Whisker Pete's" is the Whiskey Pete's hotel/casino in Primm, Nevada, where we spent the night on our way home from San Diego. Hence the reference to gambling.]

Surfing with Dadda

This one is for this shark they have at SeaWorld that has a huge bump on his head. He is a really big nurse shark that hangs out by the window where the megalodon teeth are. I really like that shark.

This morning me and dadda went surfing. We woke up so early and went to the beach. We were going to rent a surf board but then Dadda decided to buy one, but the problem is it was kind of expensive and Mumma wasn't so happy that Dadda bought that surf board. But the thing is he couldn't call her to talk about it because he didn't have his phone. He left it in the car so it wouldn't wash out of his pocket. It's a pretty cool board though.

I caught some pretty cool waves when we were surfing. Those waves were pretty big. At first I didn't really dare to surf because those waves were so big, so I just watched Dadda for a while, but then I finally dared to. You gotta catch the wave right when it starts turning white on top. That's called breaking. Waves start way in the middle of the ocean and they come and come until they hit a reef or a sandbar. Then they break and you ride them.
