So Happy They Could Cry (Part II)

This one is for Mrs. Quist because it was the last day of school and I will miss her. She was a great teacher.

I have this show called "Back to the Cretacious" where a girl goes back to the time of the dinosaurs. But she has one of those kinds of dads that just doesn't believe you when you discover things or go back in time. My dadda isn't one of those dads. If I ever went back in time my dadda would believe me.

That girl was in the bathroom and then she was just in the forest. She helps the momma t-rex because she saves her eggs from a raptor. So that momma t-rex bent down and let the girl pet her. That makes me have special feelings. That's what I was talking about when I say that sometimes you get so happy that you cry.

[Dad's Note: I think the boy loves dinosaurs. The movie is T-Rex: Back to the Cretaceous. See also: So Happy They Could Cry (Part I). ]

Wednesdays with West: Snukels and Gobbles

This one is for Peyton. I will miss Peyton.

Me and Bridger got a treat at the dollar store. It was snukels and gobbles. Snukels make you breathe underwater like a shark. Gobbles is kind of like glasses. They make you see underwater. Now I can breathe and see underwater just like a shark!

Counting Made Easy

This one is for a t-rex that has a long scratch from his eye down his arm.

This is a picture of me and my friend Gibron on the school bus. He is from Mexico. He has a little brother named Woody.

I learned in school how to count to 100. It's kinda tough, but I can do it. I can actually count to 113. But I figured out a way to count to 100 that's easy and anybody can do it......you just start at 90.

A Trip to a Hawaiian Place

This one is for the parrot on Pirates of the Caribbean.

Today we went to this Hawaii place and it seemed like we were on the island of Hawaii. I asked dadda if we was on Hawaii and he said no, but we were where lots of Hawaiians lived. Lilo is Hawaiian, you know.

I knew we were at a Hawaiian place because of the music. If it was a car place there would be all kinds of music about cars and racing. But Hawaiian music is all about islands the sea. Plus there was tons of ukuleles there.

I went on a long hike with some other boys to see if we could find a mountain lion. My friend named Kekoa told us there was a mountain lion up there. But we didn't find the mountain lion, we found a lizard instead.

There was lots of pokies on that mountain. That's the last time I go hiking in flip-flips.

[Dad's Note: The 'Hawaiian place' is an old Hawaiian colony in the West Desert. It's now a ghost town, but the descendants of the original colony meet every year for a festival and a feast. Roast pig, anybody?]

Happy First Birthday, TheDinosaurBoy.com!!

[Dad's Note: Tonight's post marks the first birthday of Bridger's blog. Bridger has been posting almost daily since May 23, 2006 (a total of 348 posts). It's been an eventful year. Thanks for being here for Bridger. Stay tuned for another great year!]

"My name is Bridger. I am 4 years old. I love dinosaurs. They are the most powerful creatures to ever walk the earth."

--The text of Bridger's first blog post
This one is for Angel. I love her so much.

This is my blog's first birthday. My blog turned one year today! That means that I've wrote my blog for a whole year now. That is important because everybody in the whole world reads my blog. It is my letter to the whole world to tell everybody in the world how much I love dinosaurs. That's important because lots of people don't know a lot about dinosaurs and some people think they're mean. I have to tell people that they are wonderful creatures.

I like writing my blog. Sometimes it's really hard. Sometimes I tell what I did today. Sometimes the TV will give me a clue what to write about. Today I want to tell something most people don't know. Did you know that not all of the dinosaurs became extinct? Most of them did, but some of them turned into different creatures. Like raptors. Jesus turned them into birds so they could find food better.

I love dinosaurs very much, but do you know what else I love so much? My little sister Angel. She is so cute. She is so little that she can't talk or move. Her arms move, but that's because they're in charge of theirselves.

Welcome to the World, Angel Star Crystal!!

This one is for Angel because she came out of mumma's belly.

Did you know that I got a new little sister today? Yep. She is beautiful and I named her Angel. She used to be in mumma's belly yesterday, but then she came out. When babies are done being in mummas' bellies, Jesus makes them come out. They can't talk, but they can remember living in the stars.

I love my baby sister Angel! She looks just how I knew she would look. When we went to the hostipal to see her, me and Weston and Coulter blew up plastic gloves to make balloons. I am so happy that mumma's belly isn't fat anymore and that Angel came to me. I will take very good care of her.

[Dad's Note: Here are the stats- Born 3:45 am this morning; 6 lbs., 13 oz.; 19 inches long; Named Ella Grace(Bridger is in denial) Mumma and baby doing just fine; Big brothers very excited; Mumma and dadda very tired.]

Fishing for Bluegill

Yesterday we went on a walk with Ziggy and there was this kid at the lake fishing for little bluegills. He let me and Weston and Shayla have a turn fishing and I caught one of those bluegills. You can't touch them because they have a sharp spine. Only dadda could touch those bluegills.

If you want to catch some bluegills first you need a fishing rod. The fishing rod I want is the rocket fishing rod that is on TV. You can catch fish with it and it really works! I hope I get one of those for my birthday.

Then you put a little piece of bread on the hook and put it in the water and hold it real still. Then a fish will bite it and you catch the fish. It's very easy.

Our TV Tells Time!

This one is for Zee, Moose A. Moose's bird. Dadda does not like Moose A. Moose. He says he's goofy.

Did you know our TV tells time? Yep. I was watching Noggin today and Moose A. Moose said "Let's look at the calendar and see what day it is." He looked at the calendar and said it's Wednesday. And guess what? The TV was right!

Lisa's Cool Clothes Washer

This one is for Lisa.

Do you know what is so cool? Day after the other day I was at the kids house and they have such a cool clothes washer. You can see the clothes going around and around and around. They let me watch it with them and we watched it for a very long time. I want to get a clothes washer like that one!

A Snake Named Dianne

This one is for dadda because he is brave enough to pick up a snake.

Do you know what I have in my yard? A snake nest! It's under the Charlie Brown Christmas tree. We were playing on the grass and all the sudden there was a snake. He tried to bite dadda and he just kept striking. Dadda put him in a box and I said we should take that snake and let it free in the wild.

So McCall came and we goed to the field and let the snake go. I wish I could keep it but mumma said we already have lizards and frogs so we don't need a snake. But I miss that snake and I named her Dianne. Maybe someday I will see her again.

If I Could Meet Jesus

This one is for mumma because it's Mother's Day. I love mumma so much because she loves me and takes care of me and makes me food.

I always wish I could go back in time to the age of the dinosaurs. If I had a time machine, I'd go back there. But on my way back I'd stop at the time of Jesus and check things out a little. I might go see Jesus when he's on the cross. McCall has a picture of Jesus on the cross and I love that picture. I need to get that picture. It makes me remember about Jesus and it makes me remember that he died for me. Sometimes I just don't remember about that and I don't want to ever forget that.

If I could see Jesus I would ask him some things like why did the raptors have to turn into birds. I kind of like them as raptors. I would ask him to protect America and help all the poor people. I would ask him to make a giant laser that goes over all America to protect it from bad guys' rockets. I would tell him thanks for making the dinosaurs and for dying for me.

Dinosaur Extinction Theories

This one is for the white alligator at the zoo. I've decided to name him Crockett- Davey Crockett.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately- how the dinosaurs died. Here's what I think happened.

After the giant asteroid came down in Mexico, the sun was down really long and the plants died without the sun, then the plant eaters died without the plants. So then the meat eaters couldn't find any plant eaters to eat, so they died too.

I think Jesus turned the longnecks into komodo dragons and monitors and made them into meat eating predators so they could defend themselves.

When all the other dinosaurs were gone, some of the raptors tried to find little things to eat but those little things were very fast. So they got feathers and started to fly. Did you know that a bald eagle can see a creature from a mile up in the sky? Yep. So those raptors became birds so they could do those things.

But if I was in charge I wouldn't have the raptors turn into birds. I think they were just fine the way they were.

Somehow alligators and crocodiles stayed the exact same and they are alive today!

Wednesdays with West: Becoming a Man

How many days until I turn into a man? Because I don't want to become a man. I want to stay little because I am very fast. When you are a man you are really slow like dadda. So I don't want to turn into a man. I want to stay a little kid.

Preschool Program Memories

This one is for this dog on this animal show on Animal Planet. He ate a squishy ball and the animal doctors had to reach in his throat to pull it out. But they finally got it.

Today we went to the preschool programs. I was in preschool next year and I had a program. I was prince charming and I had to kiss Snow White on the forehead. Then I had to pretend to kiss her on the lips and that wasn't fun at all. But then I saw the real Snow White at Disney World. She is very pretty, but I wouldn't like to kiss her- not even on her forehead.

But I had to kiss Snow White on my program. I had to also do dances and sing songs. Do you know what song I sang? "It happened on one of those zip-a-dee-do-dah days. Now that's the kind of day where you can't open your mouth without a song jumpin' right out of it."

Now I'm in kindergarten and I don't know which I like better- kindergarten or preschool. I guess I like kindergarten better, because I don't have to kiss any girls for a program in kindergarten.

Dinosaur Boy Meets White Alligator

This one is for a baby brachiosarus. I was watching Walking With Dinosaurs and a little baby brachiosaurus that was 5 months old got eaten by a coelophysis.

We went to the zoo for school and dadda even came with us. He even rode on the bus with me. Even Lisa was there and Silas's mom. That was a very long bus ride. We went to the reptiles first and saw these really big snakes and some crocodiles.

Do you know what the zoo also has? A white alligator. It's all white and it lives in the jungle at the zoo. His mom and dad aren't white but he is and his brothers and sisters are. It's something in his DNA. DNA is this stuff in your blood that tells you what you look like. Did you know I even have DNA?

The Story of The Hungry Velociraptor

This one is for dadda because me and him are going to the zoo tomorrow.

Do you want to hear a story? There was a velociraptor in middle of the desert looking for food. He found an ankylosaur and he didn't want to eat that ankylosaur but it was the only thing it found so it had to try.

Now velociraptor doesn't want to fight ankylosaur because of his armor and his powerful club tail. Scientists know his club tail was very powerful because they made one out of metal that would be the same hardness as a ankylosaur tail. Then they throwed it against some animal ribs to see how hard it was and it breaked those ribs in half.

But he had nothing else to eat so he jumped on ankylosaur's back and the ankylosaur started swinging his tail back and forth. But when velociraptor was up there he saw a pack of protoceratops. So he jumped back off ankylosaur and chased those protoceratops. The protoceratops ran to the edge of the desert into the jungle where the utahraptor lived.

I will tell the rest of that story tomorrow...

Sleep Tight- Don't Let the Dust Bites Bite

This one is for a lizard.

I slept so good last night. Do you know why? Because this lady came to my house and told me all about dust bites. Then she got a sucker and sucked them right out of my bed. Dust bites are very bad little things the size of germs. They bite you and you don't even know they bit you. You have no idea.

So now that there wasn't any dust bites in our bed I went to sleep and got lots of sleep. Momma said she read that I should be getting 11 hours of sleep every night. Where did she find out that I am supposed to sleep that many a night? I sleeped so much that I was so happy when I woke up. I hate going to sleep at night, so I told mumma to just remind me how happy I was when I woke up today and that will help me go to sleep.

[Dad's Note: Thanks to the ever so aggressive Kirby door-to-door vacuum saleswoman, who filled Bridger's head will all kinds of "dust bite" stories yesterday.]

Tuesday Ukulele

[Dad's Note: Bridger had his Wednesday crash a day early this week, and West was soon to follow. So please enjoy this picture of Bridger's ukulele while we let the boys slumber.]
