Desert Dinos: Protoceratops and Velociraptor

This one is for Kelsi from Tescas. But she isn't in Tescas, she's here!

Dadda went camping out in the desert. I told him to look for protoceratops and velociraptor bones because those are some dinosaurs I know that lived in the desert. The desert is cold at night and sometimes spooky, but not spooky to me.

Velociraptor means "swift robber" because he is fast and he is a stealer. Velociraptor is powerful but protoceratops has armor. Dadda didn't find any bones but something's telling me they're out there...

[Dad's Note: I wondered about Bridger's claim that velociraptor lived in the desert since the Jurassic Park movies portray him lurking in exotic jungles. I did some googling and discovered that paleontologists in 1971 uncovered intact and un-smashed fossils of a velociraptor and a protoceratops locked in mortal combat- in Mogolia's Gobi desert. They concluded that a sand cliff must have collapsed on top of them and froze them in time. Today's picture is an exact replica of that specimen.]
