Goodbye Bambi, Goodbye Car

[Dad's Note: We went fishing today at Mirror Lake, and on the way back down the canyon tonight a deer darted out in front of us. I slammed on the breaks and hit it head-on. The deer flew about 20 feet then skidded and rolled for about another 20. It must have been a deer party night, because on the way to pick up our wrecked car, the wrecker hit a deer himself.

Bridger and his little brothers were sleeping when it happened, and while it probably totalled our vehicle, the boys never woke up. In fact, we had the car towed, found a ride back home and put them to bed without them so much as cracking an eyelid.

So tomorrow we have to explain to the boys why we no longer have mom's car. I'm not sure if we'll mention killing Bambi's Mom.

We had planned on getting home in time for Bridger to write a post, but this incident delayed us several hours. So, for the first time since the beginning of this blog, there are no words of wisdom from our dinosaur boy tonight.

What I do know is that he had planned on dedicating tonight's post to his aunt Whitney. Tune in tomorrow for Bridger's regularly scheduled post.]
